A little about gov tenders in Ukraine

The legacy of the Soviet Union, Ukraine inherited a developed energy sector, chemical industry, metallurgy, mechanical engineering. The annual volume of public procurement is more than 15bil of Euros.
Taking into account the holding of Euro 2012 in Ukraine there is a growth market of national tender relating to the construction of infrastructure for the European football championship (stadiums, hotels, roads, electrical substations, etc.)
In order to avoid of abuse in the market of gov tenders, to creation of competitive environment and to avoid corruption, the national administration has introduced legislative mechanisms of regulation of state procurement process. Over the past five years, legislation and, accordingly, the rules in gov tenders have changed several times. The existing law of gov tenders contains a provision on equal participation in procurement process, both domestic and foreign manufacturers, creating a competitive environment and providing efficient use of national finances.
